The Jordan Power Station at Naharaim
In 1921, Pinhas Rutenberg obtained a concession from the British Government to use water sources to generate electrical power in Palestine, and in 1926 he secured permission to build on the Jordan River. He founded the Palestine Electric Company on March 29, 1923. It was the forerunner of Israel Electric.
