Istanbul

We had the good fortune of visiting Istanbul in late November of 2008. Istanbul is the only city in the world to span two continents - Europe and Asia. This great city of some 11 to 17 million people is split in two by the Bosphorous Strait and was the imperial capital of both the Byzantine Empire and the Ottomans. It is now Turkey's largest city and a must-see for anyone who loves history.
