San Diego–Coronado BridgeThe bridge was designed with a curve to provide the required 200 feet of clearance needed to allow an empty oil-fired aircraft carrier to pass beneath it – it is not tall enough for Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carriers.

The San Diego–Coronado Bridge was built in 1967 and is a "prestressed concrete/steel" girder bridge, crossing over San Diego Bay in the United States, linking San Diego with Coronado, California.
