Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX

This aircraft was built in March 1944, at Castle Bromwich Aircraft Factory - Birmingham UK. It was assigned to a fighting squadron by May and was flown in support of the D-Day Invasion on June 6, 1944. After World War II, this Spitfire served with the Royal Netherlands and Belgian Air Forces.

Spitfire Mk.IXc

This rare spitfire (S/N: MK923) was owned by actor Cliff Robertson from 1963 to 1998 and flown by Jerry Billing. In 1999 and 2000 the Spit was displayed by Bud Granley at the Abbotsford Air Show in Canada. It is now at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.
