Avro Shackleton MR2

This was the last airworthy Shackleton, but, sadly, no more. It's last flight was on December 16, 2007, when it flew from Midland, Texas, to its new home at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.

Avro
Shackleton MR2

The Shackleton was the last of Avro's heavy bombers, after the Lancaster and Lincoln. It entered service in 1951 as a Maritime Patrol aircraft and was not relieved until 1991. This was the last airworthy Shackleton in the world, but several survive in museums in the U.K. and South Africa.
