Fokker D.VII

Designed by Reinhold Platz, Baron Manfred von Richthofen flew the prototype, designated V11. He found it easy to fly, able to dive at high speed quickly yet remain steady as a rock, and it had good visibility for the pilot. His recommendation ensured the D.VII went into production.
