Thomas-Morse
S4C Scout

The Scout was a single-seat training aircraft used by the U.S. Army Air Service in 1918. Dubbed the Tommy by its pilots, it was essentially a copy of the British Sopwith Camel. The US Army Air Service purchased 100 S4Bs in the summer of 1917 and nearly 500 S4Cs.
