Hawker Hurricane Mk. IIA

This Hurricane MK.IIA is a Canadian built airframe painted to represent an aircraft of 71 Squadron, Royal Air Force, one of the three Eagle Squadrons of World War II. Americans in the RAF flew Hurricane MK.IIAs with this unit from May to August 1941.

Hawker Hurricane
Mk. IIA

The prototype Hurricane first flew in November 1935 and the first production aircraft made its initial flight in October 1937. By the time war broke out in September 1939, the RAF had taken delivery of about 500 Hurricanes.
