Boeing WB-50D Superfortress

In 1963 the USAF started phasing out the WB-50Ds, and in 1965 the aircraft on display became the last WB-50D to be retired. It was delivered to the museum in 1968.

Boeing WB-50D
Superfortress

The B-50 first flew on 25 June 1947. It is a redesigned B-29 with R-4360-35 radials; a lighter, stronger airframe; a taller tail fin; and paddle blade propellers. Production stopped in 1953.
