Douglas XB-43 Jetmaster

Motivated by the appearance of German jet fighters, the USAAF contracted with Douglas to build two XB-43s. in January 1944. The USAF retired this aircraft (S/N: 44-61509), and it came to the Museum in 2010.

Jetmaster

The Jetmaster was the first American bomber powered by jet engines. It is basically a jet-powered version of the XB-42 Mixmaster. It was powered by two General Electric TG-180 turbojets.
