Beech UC-43 Traveler

This aircraft, donated by Maj. Richard River, USAF (Ret.), of Chillicothe, Ohio, was flown to the museum in May 1974. Procured by the Army during WWII, it was assigned to the Navy as a GB-2. It is painted as a UC-43 assigned to the 8th Air Force in England in 1943.

Traveler

The Traveler is a light transport biplane with negative or backward staggered wings based on the Beech Model 17 Staggerwing. The Army ordered the first of 270 Model 17s in 1942. They served as a compact executive-type transport or courier aircraft
