Douglas AD-4 Skyraider

The Museum's Skyraider was built in 1949 and saw three tours in Korea with several different squadrons. After spending 10 years as a static display in Atlanta, in 1966 it was purchased and restored to flying condition. The Museum acquired it in 2000.

Douglas AD-4
Skyraider

The AD-4 was built in larger numbers than any other Skyraider variant. It was operated by the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the U.S. Air Force, and also saw service with the British Royal Navy, the French Air Force, the Republic of Vietnam Air Force, and others. It remained in U.S. service until the early 1970s, and was replaced in the U.S. by the Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II.
