Rotary Wing Research Aircraft

On 28 October 1964, this aircraft, with newly added wings and jet engines, became the first rotary winged aircraft to exceed 200 knots. As displayed here, this UH-1 has second version received its wings and JT12-A3 jet engines in October 1964. It set an unofficial world speed record of 274.4 knots on 15 April 1969.
