Bridge at Remagen

The Ludendorff Bridge was the last standing on the Rhine during the Allied push into Germany in World War II. German engineers had mined the bridge before the American approach, but the charges did not go off. It was captured by soldiers of the U.S. 9th Armored Division on March 7, 1945.
