San Diego Bay This sea lion is not bothered by the sail boats turning near this buoy. Hundreds of California Sea Lions can be seen lounging on the buoys in the middle of harbor and on the bait barge near Point Loma.

San Diego Bay

The majority of the photos in this section are taken from boats on San Diego Bay. The bay, which is 12 miles (19 km) long and 1 to 3 miles (1.6 to 4.8 km) wide, is the third largest of California's three large, protected natural bays. The two larger bays are San Francisco Bay and Humboldt Bay.
