Each limber also towed a caisson, which carried two ammunition chests. There were no caissons at this demonstration.

Field Artillery Limber

The field artillery limber had two wheels, an ammunition chest, a pintle hook at the rear, and a central pole with horse harnessed on either side. There was one limber for each artillery piece in a battery, and they were normally pulled by six horses.
