The stained glass windows were designed by students from the State Fine Arts Academy in Istanbul, and the glass was imported from England.

Synagogue
The synagogue was partially damaged by a terrorist attack on September 6, 1986, when 23 worshippers were killed. After repairs were completed, it was put into service in May of 1987.
