Built in 1902 as a forty-six stall full circle roundhouse and modernised in 1937, only three original sections of the roundhouse have survived.

The visitor center, theater, technology and history museums are built in the style of and on the site of the missing portions of the original roundhouse, giving a feeling of what the original circular structure was like.
