Standard Aircraft
J-1

The Standard Aircraft Co. J-1 was a two-seat primary trainer powered by a Curtiss OXX-6 engine. It was ordered by the U.S. Army Air Service to supplement the JN-4 Jenny, which had experienced a supply shortage of its Curtiss OX-5 engine. The J-1 was similar in appearance to the Jenny but was more difficult to fly.
