African Elephant
Tarangire National Park covers 2,850 square kilometers of northern Tanzania. It is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania and is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania - approximately 2,500. Elephant numbers are rapidly increasing by an estimated six percent per year. Some herds can be as large as 600 strong.
